make sure you put small holes in the bottom of box if you use corn and water gets in and the corn will sour.

we use the t post setup aound here because we can pu enough food in it for a few days, but be aware if you have cats in the area you might be doing more harm then good.

My buddy puts alfalfa in the middle of a pile of branches and it seems to work great.

i helped a friend out last winter that has tons of whitetails coming into his yard every night. what we did was had a normal cattle manger and at the top of the roofing over it we stretched the bungie cords diagnally across it. (like someone had talked about before) then we put garbanzo beans right up against his hay stack where the bucks have to really push against it to get to the beans. then we went as far as splitting the hay stack in half where a deer could fit through with just enough room to get in and out and put more garbanzo's on the ground between the two stacks. we ended up with 6 sets and 3 singles. it was pretty awesome.

How's that tube feeder working out?  I put a couple out on some private land a week ago but haven't been back to check on them.

It works pretty good but I had to put something behind the top of is so it puts the tube on the bottom at a slant so that feed comes down easier but works great now.

Mine are straight down with no bend.  I just cut the pipe at a 30 degree angle and let it rest on the ground.  The feed comes out the "wedge" shape created by the angled cut.  I made mine 5 feet long and filled them to the top with wet cob.  I have a cap snugged on for a lid.  What do you have for food?  Looks like alfalfa pellets (?)

Man that is a good idea with just cutting the wedge out and a hell of a lot cheaper.  I think I have some more PVC around I think I will make a couple like that.  Yeah they are a deer feed that is mostly alfalfa they eat the hell out of it.  They cleaned the entire pipe out in a day.  What are you using for feed?

I filled both mine with wet cob.  Some deer eat it, most ignore it.  At least that's my experience.  I put them out to supplement their nutrition more than anything.  I heard alfalfa is hard for deer to digest, unless it's lush fresh plant form as opposed to bailed or pellets.  I haven't really researched it, just something I heard.
