We were up in the Dayton unit this weekend doing cold weather survival training.  Didn't see any elk at all, but then, we were near the road.

Like Todd said, be careful of the fog. This stuff rolls in over there in no time flat. If you are in the timber it can and will flat out make you feel helpless if you are not prepared. I always take a compass and a gps with me, even if it is just a short hunt away from camp.

Elk just have not moved down to the areas I can help you guys with.  Some of you are still asking and I will for sure let you know when and if they show up before season end.  Wish I could be more helpful.
