Anyone ever hunt Crab Creek near Odessa?
« on: January 28, 2008, 04:48:57 PM »
I've seen a website (http://accima.com/pages/hunting/) for Crab Creek Shooting Preserve. They offer a year-round upland hunting membership. Has anyone ever hunted there? If so, what did you think or what has anyone heard?

Hey there uplandlabs, We put on the Desert 100 over there and the course runs right beside that hunt club. I ask about it last year and the guys didn't really know but said it was real expensive. The hunt is pretty good around there we see pheasant everytime we go out that way. I also have some friends that say the goose hunting is great. The man that owns a ton of land over there, His name is Wes King look him up give him a call. We will be setting up the course soon I will grab the info and p.m you when we go over

For crying out loud Upland I looked at the link I dont think its that good. I go over to Cooke canyon every now and again. its $135 for the birds plus 50.00 membership. My pointing lab from Cooke canyon will be going over for 2 months of pointing school in April. Looking forward to seeing how he hunts when I get him back.

I've been hunting all along Crab Creek for basically the past 4-5 years for birds (my whole hunting career) and I've always been successful out there for pheasant and quail. I usually run into a couple deer and sometimes catch a glimpse of a coyote out there.

They release some pheasant for the youth hunt and the not so dumb ones sometimes make it to the regular upland bird season so there's some out there. You gotta spend some time out there to find em' though.
