Can any of you folks recommend a outfitter or ranch to take like a 3 or 4 day pheasant hunt. We are talking about running over towards the Dakotas or Nebraska in the fall of 2008.Thanks for any help

This one I can help on maybe... seeing as I just moved to WA from pheasant heaven, and roosters are my passion.  My first suggestion would be Miles Mendel of Doland South Dakota.  http://www.lakemiragehunting.com/index.htm (may have to copy & paste)  I think that address can get you there.

These are great guys, good friends of mine, good solid ethical hunters with some of the absolute best land to be found anywhere.  It is totally wild bird hunting, no release birds here.

This fall on their land I got my best ever white tail, nice fat 5x5.  83 lbs of meat on him.  Took him to town to show off & Merrit (the other twin) his buck was 3 inches bigger in every direction possible.  The last Sat. of pheasant season a group of us went out on their land for one last hurrah ... another 60 bird day.  Not that it was easy, but the birds are there.  They are open to a variety of styles, from fully guided useing their good GSP's to them handing you a map & saying here is a good spot of our land to try.  The lodge is real nice and sits right in a little town.

I've hunted SD for 22 years now & I really don't think you can do better then them.   At least give them a call & see...

God Bless,
