Thanks for posting the dates for the rendezvous and the Fur Sale. Even if you don't have fur to sell, it is a great place to meet other trappers and catch up on any upcoming legislative action.  I think Bruce will give a fur handling demo, too.
WDFW should be on hand to tag your otters and cats in the morning.

Also, I have not spoken to George Sovie lately, but in the past I have bought trapping supplies from him and he was kind enough to bring them to the fur sale (No shipping cost).

Joining Wa State trappers is a good way to support trapping in our state and help with the fight to keep whats left alive.A great group.

I used to belong to them untill they stabbed us in the back and let the trapping ban initiative go through without any fight.  I got several letters from them wanting money to fight it.  They said they had it all under control and not to worry so I gave them money but they sure didn't do anything with it.  That was the last year I belonged to the trappers association.  Sorry, but trapping is already dead in this state.

I know this is about 7 months old but it's the first time I've seen it and I just have to reply.
I don't understand how you can say you were stabbed in the back. We did the best we could with what we had and we lost. The money went to TV adds. Let me tell you what wins in these initiative battles, MONEY!!!!! and more MONEY!!!!!!. We were told we needed at least $500,000 to have a chance and $800,000 to have a good chance. Instead we were able to raise about $300,000. How much did you raise? We needed every trapper in the state to bring in $2,000 and it didn't happen.
I would like to hear what we should have done and how it can be done on the cheap.
Oregon raised $850,000 mostly from the timber companies and they one. If the timber companies would have kicked in here I think we might have also.
This just makes me so angry. We had picketers out when they were gathering signatures, TV adds, newspaper editorials, signs and after it was over we took it clear to the Supreme Court trying to get it overturned. I took 6 months off of work and personally put in $35,000 and now I find out I stabbed you in the back.
WOW
