Anybody ever chronographed...
« on: January 03, 2010, 05:52:39 PM »
... a Kent fasteel load? The reason I ask this is because yesterday my buddy and I shot a 3" 1 1/8oz. Kent fasteel through the chronograph. The box says the load should go 1560 fps, well after shooting it through the chrony from a 28 inch barrel out of my M2 the chrony read 1920 fps! :yike: That really surprised us. So I decieded to shoot a 3" 1 1/4oz. remington Hi-speed sportsmans steel, the box says these loads should only go 1400 fps. After shooting through the chrony out of the same gun it read 1350 fps, which is much closer to the speed that it is labeled for than the kent load.

So my question is, has anyone else seen something similar to this with the Kent loads? Or do you think it was a bad lot of shells that my have gotten to much powder?

I also noticed that they kick about twice as hard as the remington load did.
