Love my Dillon...

It's an old one, but still turns out quality ammo at quite acceptable speeds. Not much better on a rainy weekend than some time spent in the gun room.

I love your Dillon, too.

 :chuckle: Now that's phunny!

Seriously though... If I had a neighbor that wanted to learn how to reload, I'd teach him/her on a single stage press then move on to a semi-progressive press turning out 300-400 pistol rounds an hour. Although my model is capable of many rifle cartridges I keep all bottleneck stuff to the single stage?

Pisser about shooting so much is all the brass I have to prep and reload. Great thing about it though is that I can reload custom 45acp for less $.14 each by pouring my own lead. That's a whole lot less than retail pricing.

Wow Gary, you've done alot since I was last out.

I would love to have a Dillon. Sadly at this point I'm not shooting enough to justify one. Besides what would I do with all of my free time at home if I could load ammo 3Xs faster than I am now.

Three times faster than you load now?  You're pretty fast with a single stage!  :chuckle:

After seeing FalFire's photo.. I am humbled.  Showed the pic to my wife and said that my reloading room needed some expansion.  I got this evil glare that would melt concrete. She said something to the effect that it would be my tomb sooner than I anticipated. I should feel lucky to have the 10x10 room that I have.. -all to myself.

TESTAR77 is enhancing his reloading room with the kitchen cupboards we pulled out of our kitchen (remodel).

We all need man caves!

I think I would love most any progressive press. This one is fine for me. A few hundred or so match quality 45acp in an hour is good enough for me to build up my needs for a years worth of match play in stages.

Yep love my dillon as well.  I only have a Bsquare but it works well for me.  I just do handgun on it.  I payed $50 bucks for it, a guy won it at some gathering and did not want to reload.  I still use a old old Hollywood single stage for my rifle rounds.  I just enjoy weighing out each load and making sure everything is just right.

How many stages does your Dillon have?
Can you run a taper die to finish?

Not sure if that was directed at me or one of the guys with real equipment and skills above but this is what I have.

Wow Gary, you've done alot since I was last out.

Yeah, things have changed a bit since you there last. Now I have a shooting window cut into the wall you see in the far end of the photo. I can shoot out to 600 yards from that window.

What you cannot see in the photo is the RCBS Rock Chuker press mounted next to the last Dillon 550, plus I still have one more Dillon pistol press and one additional RCBS Rock Chukar press to set up. I also have a couple of shotgun presses still to mount up on a bench. I just don't have the spare room because there is a sleeper sofa taking up a bunch of space there also, in case momma kicks me out   :chuckle:

I am still working on that old barn out back and I was going to use that for my reloading room but not sure what to do with it yet.

Yeah, but it's cooler to have more stuff  :IBCOOL: :chuckle:

Actually, I purchased one of the 550 presses new about 20 years ago and one RCBS brand new back in about 1975 or so, all the others were given or sold to me on the cheap and I mean real cheap.
