I thought that elk couldn't be beat.  Then I shot a moose and it is THE best meat that I've had.  Even my wife loves it.

I added walleye and oryx as requested.

I put moose as my favorite, but that was kind of tough deciding.... :chuckle:
So far it looks like Elk is pretty popular, with moose coming in strong 2nd place. :)

Sisu, I gotta agree with you on the fresh Halibut thing.  There is a place in Seward that will take it right from you and cook it any way you want, straight from the dock, great place but can't remember the name, maybe a Greek place?  We (my cousins and I) also cooked a shore lunch this past year when we outta Valdez with fresh caught Halibut that was tremendous as well.

For me the favorite is Moose, I've had cougar and lots and lots of elk, both of which are excellent table fare.  But from start to finish, Moose is all around best for me.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

When I was growing up, our next door neighbor (who had hunted all over the world) used to say Dall Sheep was the best meat.  Jack O'Connor was on record saying the same thing...must be something to that... :dunno:
