i can't see anyone giving you too hard a time over this.  you made a mistake, and made it right by doing the right and legal thing.  good for you for taking the hit.  i know people that would have tried to cover it up.  they are not sportsmen, they are killers.  like the others said, i hope they wdfw didnt ding you too much.  mistakes can happen, it's what you do afterwards that shows what kind of person you are.

Ripper I commend you, for doing the right and ethical thing.

I can only imagine the thoughts, that were going through your head.  Especially, after realizing what had just happened.  Like most have said on here, alot of people would have turned tail and ran.  Hoping that they wouldn't get caught.  I think enforcement was more wiling to work with you, being you fessed up to your mistake.  I am glad that the meat was not waisted.

I am pretty selective on who I hunt or share a camp with.  And you sir, are welcome at my fire anytime.   :cmp1:

By the sounds of it, you have a good hunting partner.   You can tell alot about a person, by the company they keep.

Roger that!

You did the right thing, good for you.  Hope the F&G boys took it easy on ya for doing the responsible thing.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

So what does this have to do with your tooth?  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Way to man up.  I know that it was probably hard to do.  But if it was me, I'd be looking at some new binoculars.  If you can't tell even a yearling spike from a cow at under 150 yards you need better glass.

Just tryin to drum up sympathy with the tooth part I guess. :'(  It was just an all around bad week. I have Nikon binocs but I think I'll up the magnification to 10X. What I really don't like is my scope. I got it new one last year, supposed to be a good one, but I'm not impressed at all. In the timber it has horrible light gathering. Not nearly as good as the Leupold on my other rifle.
