Is there any other that a 12? Bigger is better, and I can shoot a meth maggot in the ass from distance if my truck is being broken into.  :chuckle:

My 108 yr. old damascus barreled Lefever 16ga. sxs (designed for nitro and black powder loads) with 2.5" chambers and low pressure 1 oz. 6's roll-crimped handloads at 1300 fps.  Absolutely deadly out to 50 yards, and looks beautiful doing it.

I have a 23+ y.o. Winchester Ranger that is my go-to killer.  My Italian O/U and Benelli are a lot classier, but I don't kill as well with them as the old Winchester.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

When I was in England I used my Huglo or artimez o/u I picked up in Turkey, both are double trigger, full choke, they shoot 2 3/4 to 3 inch. I killed over 160 pheasants with them in 2003, plus around 500 woodland pigeons. Where I live now there isn't much for upland game, so they sit in the safe wrapped in towels, unless I go to shoot trap or skeet with them.

my 16 is of the same vintage, isn't it sad that they don't build guns this light and sleek anymore? I would rather cary my old 16 them my new franchi alcione.....purely based on handling.

you have a plan for when they make us go non tox? seems we oughta be great great grandfathered in..........lol.

I have its twin in 12ga. that I think I will be listing on gunbroker in the next few days.  It's actually in nicer shape, and I have almost two full boxes of no tox #5's to go with it.

If you're going to shoot no tox in old guns, you pretty much have to reload to make it halfway affordable.
