Left cabelas with a little toy
« on: January 08, 2010, 03:20:53 PM »
I picked up a ruger 10/22 this morning.  Been wanting to get something that my nephew could graduate to and seemed like a decent price with a scope.  Grabbed a butler creek magazine and a couple thousand rounds.....that should get him started.
They had a pretty cool tactical ruger setup there that I might pick up later on.

Hey "Uncle Mossy"  I need a new 870 shotgun, to graduate to..   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I gave my nephews a 22 pistol about 8 years ago. They tell me every time I see them how much fun they have had with that gun. I don't see them often so it is very nice that they remember me. Very nice gift Mossy, they will always remember you.

Great gift to give a kid! My 2nd gun was a 10/22 my dad got me, I still have it and use a lot! I got the folding stock and red dot on mine, even with the stock barrel it still easily makes shots to 100yds on pop cans. Made a few 200yd shots on water jugs. Great gun, great choice, now ya gotta take em up to hunting camp if ya haven't yet.
Make every shot count cause ya might not get another.

Oh it's not his gun yet.....   ;)  I'll be keeping it around the house for a couple more years until I feel comfortable enough to hand it over.  Besides, I'm the only guy in his life that shoots guns so he's going to have to hang out with me to use it.  I think those couple years is just enough time for me to "sight" it in just right.
