Wenatchee Bow shop
« on: January 10, 2010, 08:50:49 AM »
Hello,
I'll be traveling down to Wenatchee from Alaska at the end of the month for some business.  I'd like to purchase a new bow while there and get good help setting it up.

What shop would you guys recommend for good customer service in Wenatchee?

Thanks

First place i would go would be to Hooked on Toys and walk in take a right and go all the way down past the guns and you will find the archery stuff.  First person to ask for is Aaron. He is the man.  If he isnt in that day ask for Shawn, Shawn is the main gun guy but he can get you some info and let you know when Aaron will be back to set up a bow for you.

High Mountain Hunting Supply has Mathews bows and they are also a pretty good group of guys.  They are located on Mission St in Wenatchee.
Good luck

I'm not a bow hunter but I have alot of buddy's that bow hunt and they also buy and take there bows to Aaron at Hooked on Toy's. Hooked on is located on North Weantchee ave. across from napa.

another vote for Aaron at hooked on toys, do all my business there.  Aaron will get you lined out right.  hooked on is the area hoyt dealer and also has some parkers and bears and good selection of used bows.  High Mountain mainly deals in Mathews and Bowtech,  good group of guys but ive never personally done any archery business there.  what i can say is that High mountain kinda has a limited supply of archery stuff, not bashing them just saying.  High mountain also has, i believe, an indoor virtual hunt.  i dont know if hooked on has any sort of range to test fire a bow.

Good luck,
Steve

I agree that the folks at Hooked on Toys are good people BUT how can you sell archery equipment without a range to shoot/test fire a bow to make a choice between bows and what about setup and tuning?  An archery shop should set up and tune your bow.  I would not take my new bow away from a dealer unless I could shoot it thru paper to see if it is tuned and shoot different arrows thru a chrono to verify the speed of the bow with different weight/spined arrows.  Otherwise you don't know what you have.  It is not the same as buying a gun.  Even though I live near Leavenworth, I buy my bows from a full service shop on the west side that carries the same brands as Hooked on Toys even though I would prefer to buy locally. If they ever put in a range I would reconsider.
