Friggin Thieves
« on: January 10, 2010, 09:42:02 AM »
Been to pissed to post but have finally cooled down a bit. Went to fetch our treestands and check the trail cam @ the end of the year and everything had been stolen. Trail cam, three stands and all the steps!!! This is a great Blacktail spot that we thought was pretty secure. I guess we were not sneaky enough on public land and were observered by some bottom feeders that were to friggin spineless enough to buy there own equipment. *censored*, I hate having to watch my back on public land  >:( Maybe its just as well as I did not purchase my thief tag for 09!!!!!!! Anyone else notch a thief tag this year!!!!!!!!!

Damn, you got robbed badly.  It's one thing to loose a single stand or a trail cam but all that?!!  Furious doesn't even begin to describe it.  Sorry for your loss of gear.   >:( >:( >:(

I hear if you place a pit with punji stakes right in front of you trailcam that it is real easy to fill it in when needed.   :chuckle:  :chuckle:  Plus you get the bonus utube video of their eyes getting huge as they drop out of sight.

i cant believe another hunter would ever steal someones tree stand. It seams like ethics and respect for other hunters have gone away or never existed for some people. These are the same kind of people that are taking shots on animals they should never be trying , just to see if maybe the could "hit it" , and leaving there garbage all over the place , making ALL OF US look bad, just to name a few things. I had a 2 man ladder stand stolen from a spot about 1 mile behind a locked gate east of Granite Falls this year, i thought if another hunter would have found it (it wasnt that hidden) they would just use it and not take it.I think i am glad that i did not catch them in the act , cause i honestly dont know what i would have done.
high country rules!

Stealing money is bad enough.........

Theivin the way a man makes his living (tools) or way he keeps sane (hunting/fishing gear) will earn you a special level of hate, and an especially warm place in hell.

I got waxed for six rods/reels on New Years morning one year, while eating breakfast. In that heist, my 94 year old pard lost rods that he had made 30+ years ago. Painful.

I know the feeling. Burns sometin fierce.

If I had caught the guy with my rods that morning, I have the feeling I would still be in the clink.
..............as always, offering sobering truth.

Man that sucks....sorry to hear that 300bull. When ever you put a stand up (privite property or public) and leave it up without being there you take a chance on losing it. I have a metal tree stand I leave up all year on privite property. If you look hard enough for it you can see it from the dirt road. (It's way out in nowhere land) And I know that is the chance I take.     I hate frikin thieves.  >:(

I wonder If my stand is still there?????????  It's 334 miles form my house.  can't just run there and see but I'm thinking a trip is in order.

I feel for you man, sucks.  I had my tree stand stolen and it had been in the same spot 100 yards off my parents property for 3 years.  Think I know the guys that took it, my buddy had seen them in the area and they were acting suspicious when he talked to them.  Hope I see them come back next year, freaking punks.

Now I know this mught not work, but here is something that i did in California, my truck used to get broke into at least once every 6 months and they stoled the radio every time.

About the 5th time it happened, I superglued razor blades to the back of it, came down one morning, truck door was open, looked inside the stereo is laying there half out of the dash, lots of blood laying there also, was a nice blood trail to follow about 5 houses down.

So maybe if we booby trap the cameras these pieces of crap will get the message.

Sorry for your loss..

I have also heard of people placing a second less expensive trail cam up in an adjacent tree pointing at the base of their tree stand.  :dunno: 60 bucks seems to be a cheap price to pay to get some photos of the *censored*s that stole your stuff.

*censored* is a new word for me...saw it used on another post and it seemed appropriate to use here. I FRIKIN HATE THIEVES  >:(.

NW Brew, I also have 3 stands in E. Wa. that have been up for 6 years. I have to go back every year and re-insall the tree pegs to keep the bark from growin' around 'em. They are on some private and some public. I just can't imagine a hunter of any kind stealing these tools. Then again these bottom feeders can't be real hunters or sportsman or men at all as they would realize the time/effort involved in scoutin', placin' and purchasing. It just dawned on me, its Al Qieda

Sorry to hear that man!  Too bad it isn't legal to booby trap your stuff.  I have a friend who put some of these stickers on his trail cams that are in Capitol Forrest and hasn't had one ripped off yet.  He does have pics of guys looking at the stickers and cams real close before walking off.

That's a good Idea Polarbear....Do you know where we can pick some of those stickers up? I agree with you 300bull....no hunter...man or woman, worth their salt would do that to another hunter. They are nothing more than scum.

Truthfully if you ask me thieves are the LOWEST SCUM on earth!!!  They are not man/women enough to go out and earn what they have.  One day them low lifes POS will get what they deserve.

By the way sorry you half to go though that crap.... as you can see I DONT LIKE thieves.
