Going to have to build a habitat
« on: January 13, 2010, 08:42:34 AM »
I just got a really nice, cross, benchleg or whatever else it is called in. It is an awesome rack and a big roman old faced buck. The individual that harvested it did a no-no and drug it back to camp.

I understand that he wants to keep the original cape and I am going to do all that I can to make sure that he does, so instead of getting a new cape I am going to build a habitat scene around the drag marks.

Here are some pictures, I am just posting these up so all of you can experience what can happen if you drag your deer out, if you are way back in, it is easier to cut the deer in half and carry it out than to drag it.

Must have drug it with a quad? :dunno:  Looks like some serious rug burn...  Any pictures of the rack?  Can't wait to see the mount...

I don't know how you guys don't just laugh at people when they ask you to "fix" that boo-boo,
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Sometimes it is hard to explain to them with a straight face that it cant be put back together. Like holding the cape up that has 12 inches behind the ears, everything else is gone and they want a full shoulder mount. And they are getting mad because you can't fix it.

Kris

No CHA CHING here, I will probably just charge for materials, I am still trying to figure out how long it takes to build one. I can't give an accurate quote if I don't know how long it will take, so will just do it for experience....
