Diamond is charging 6,000 a head for bulls, but will let you get a cow for free, at least I think if you ask. The guy that owns it is the Uncle to a gal I am supervisor of. I was invited to go out there to shoot a cow, but quite frankly my freezers are full. She said there were 200 cows standing in the alafalfa feild next to their house and they want me to come out and shoot one. Not really my style of hunting so I just said thanks for the offer, then drove to NM and shot one of those stinky bulls.

It's their land, but I think it is funny how they complained about the elk for so long. Now they are charging assinine amounts of money to shoot one. Never heard they had to charg to receive depredation payments. If that is true not only are they making a lot on trespass fees but getting paid. Again my only comment is how they wanted them shot so badly and how terrible it was. Yes, I can speak to this with some experience because we have depredation problems with deer. We solve it really simple. We let youth hunters only shoot them. Really helps us out. I would think if it really is a problem they could solve it also without double dipping.

I can promise you, I wouldn't even spend 6,000 for a bull down in Arizona let alone in someones alfalfa field next to their house. I don't care how big he is. Thats just me though. According to the little gal that works for me, they have guys that come over from the wetside all the time to bust these bulls for that much. NUTS! Speaking of money. I wonder who will take the raffle tag home today or next weekend (whenever it is) and for how much.

i with bone also, but i will say that there is some huge bulls out their. that guy form wapato that killed that 440sci bull above moxee area. and i have seen 2 other bulls killed that were 370 real easy. so the potential for a lifetime trophy is certainly there but like you said to pay that much for an animal is ridiculous.

I am a firm believer in the sport of hunting. There is a reason that we call fishing fishing, not catching. Likewise hunting is hunting not killing. If some guy that has $6000 to buy his bull wants to go shoot one the is right next to a farmer's house, good for him. But I can guarantee that my buck that cost me the price of a tag, tank of gas and a week of camping with some really good friends and family means more to me than any $6000 trophy. Just my two cents

knowing some of the people that have shot some animals out there it is not just walk out to field and shoot one . i am sure that it happens from time to time but i know that it is not the norm. most of the area is what i would consider normal hunting other than the fact it costs you a whole lot more money. not my cup of tea either but it is fair chase hunting.

I talked to Martinez a few years back and he told me that the guy who shot that huge bull that may be a state record came off of his land. When I asked how much it cost him he said $10,000. I think the guy who shot the bull was from Wapato and it was in the Yakima news paper.

I really think if our license dollars are going to pay for the management of these animals then there should be some kickback to the WDFW from the prices these people charge to hunt on there land.
Charge 5000 for a bull donate 500 back to WDFW, when there fences get torn down and WDFW helps repair them they do not pay the WDFW, but when they get a hefty amount from bulls we pay to manage they expect not to pay...
