PREDATORS AND MOON PHASES
« on: January 22, 2008, 09:30:10 AM »
I was wondering if anybody could confirm something for me. Over the years I have noticed that coyote activity declines during the full moon phase. Has anyone else noticed this?

New moon is prime time.  Get your tables and learn what you've got to do to get em moving in the full moon.  Study your methods versus your variables.  That's a lot of cold nights, but you're a bad @ss right?  Modivate.  There are some with that touch. Their calls just seem to be like the Pied Piper.  That's never been me but exploring the nuances is good practice and good dicipline.
Goodluck AOD. You've go the right idea.  Mangage  the most variables, enjoy more success.
(100. ;)  If you count have something to say)
Thanks again HuntWa.  Great community. Glad to be a part of it.

If there's one thing that Coyote Whoring has taught me, it's that durring a full mool Coyotes are as insecure about their entire bodies... as you are about your small barrel.... or thin barrel... or whatever!

We'll see how many we kill this weekend with a big bright moon out. I don't recon it'll matter much with how cold it's been, plus we should be able to use the decoy at night.

Oh, and what you need to do is get an electronic caller. Know how I got the money for mine? Stock Market! Know where I got the money for the Stock Market?

true.  Full moon is more for you to exercise your will and methods but like he says and others have stated too, when it's cold they gotta eat more to survive and stay warm.  Call to them like you're a steamy-hot, trapped rabbit for the stew pot and now you're speaking the winter language no matter what the moon says. New moon is the opposite.  I don't know why it is but that's the cycle.
Full moon=less action.
New moon=you'll prolly do better.
Hunt days or nights.  Same general rules i think.  Nights, They may be a little more active. Days, I am.
 ;)
