270Shooter..................You want either one of these.....both sound great right out of the box.  Go to the Cabelas website and search the following..........

Lynch World Champion and Foolproof Turkey Calls

They are listed at $29.99, which is a decent price for a what they are.  I bought my first Lynch World Champion in Charleston, South Carolina in 1967 for $20.  Thought my new bride was going to kill me...lol.  Because it's old and carries the Birmingham Alabama address on it, it is worth considerably more now than what I paid.  In fact I have several old Lynch calls, both World Champion and Foolproof.

You can also check Ebay as there are generally a fair number on there, most older and collectable, with some new production ones.  If you have a sporting goods store close to you...i.e. Cabelas, Sportsman's, White Elephant...whatever, you should be able to find one.

Again....both sound great....World Champion is a two sided call, Foolproof hen single sided with a lip stop.  Can't go wrong with either.

We are heading to Montana next week, so we are stopping at cabelas in post falls. I have a 50 dollar gift card so I'll look around when I'm there, problem is I also need a duck call :chuckle:.

Duck season is over......so priority is Turkey call. :chuckle:

Whatever you don't spend on the Cabelas gift card they leave on the card for later if you don't have enough for both.

I used to pro staff for quaker boy game calls so I had all the calls that they made. Of all of them I liked the world champ mouth call, the hurrricain box call (which you can literally submerge in water, pull it out, and it continues to work perfectly) ,and the peelated woodpecker locator call which I never here anybody use in the woods, but the turkeys respond to it readly. Also try using any mouth call, and learn to crow like a rooster (chicken family) and see what happens. On birds that have been hunted hard I NEVER locate them with turkey sounds.

I'm thinking of pickin up a Primos Gobbler Shaker call to replace my aging HS Strut Gobble Call.    :dunno:  Has worked for me on occasion as a locator call to get a bird to sound off.

I've used both a shaker and a tube call/snuff can that does good gobbles, but never use them on public land ... too many people stalking in with loaded shotguns.

Have you read the official news release this week which is forecasting a potentially huge migration of crows into Lincoln County on or about April 15th?  Olympia is predicting that this year's record NE Washington crow migration could potentially produce non-stop Rio Wild Turkey shock gobbling, that may severely interfere with the upcoming Spring Turkey Hunting activities!   :yike:

Does anyone else have more details on this impending freak event in nature?  I've heard that it has been linked with our abnormally warm pre-spring weather??

Turkey hunters are being cautioned to stay home until this abnormal crow migration has passed, probably sometime by the end of May this year.  :chuckle:

Also picked up a mini box call from another guy. Not so help full, didnt take me serious untill I pulled out cash. I like the call I picked up from him, need a little better customer service.

Yelp,

Not trying to steal Yelp's thunder (he has none....lol.).....but my recommendation would be a Gibson Fat Boy.  Bought a couple years ago from him back at an NWTF National (think that's where it was).  I have a few other customs crow calls which are good, but Gibson's are the Cat's Meow in my opinion.  Absolutely the best from the Master of killing crows.  Here's a link.  Any one of the three is perfect.

Phantom....wondering if I did the right thing sharing that.  Maybe I rather should have sent you a PM, as now there's probably going to be a lot of crow calls out there that sound just like mine educating those gobblers.................including that Yelp guy (he always liked my crow call and I told him it was a Lohman, after which he went out and bought 3 of them.....crows go the other way when he toots...lol)..oh well, that's life...lol  :bdid:

Wacent, I think you must be mistaken, Gibson is a guitar and mandolin manufacturer.  I'm sure that you meant Lohman.   :chuckle:

I have tried a Primos Power Crow for several years and have never gotten a Tom to sound off to it!!!  Must be operator error???   :bash:
