Adjusting triggers?

Does anyone know of a good write up on adjusting the triggers on a Remington 700 BDL  and a Winchester mod. 70?  Would like to try to learn to do this myself.  I googled it but didn't come up with anything too good. I also tried Youtube with no results.  Thanks Tony

tony the rem is adjustable. the winchester needs to be honed. don't let the spring fool you. most of the trigger improvement on the win comes from cleaning up the sear engagement.

Bright red or pink fingernail polish is very important.

All my triggers now have a pretty bright red coat on them.  It makes me feel like a "sexy bitch" when I pack my rifles now.     Not sure who taught me to use finger nail polish 

any idea how to adjust a Howa trigger?

I like howa actions even when they say weatherby on them but I cant get over thier crappy triggers. I've messed with a couple and gave up.
Replace with a timney or rifle basix.
The aftermarket triggers are great and most of the time a drop in install, at the worst a light filing on the stock next to the safety.

I thought  aftermarket  might be my only option. 

The trigger is crisp enough, just breaking at 4 1/2 or so lbs.  I will play with it and see if i have any luck.  I bought it hoping to keep on a budget.  $399  .22-250 with a scope I had on hand.  I was hoping to really not spend more money on this one, but oh well.  Shoots good so far, but I need to practice more and try some longer distances.

My understanding is that they have two different trigger designs - an older one and a newer one.  Mine should be the newer one.  I can't actually tell you the difference other than some folks mentioned a lock nut on the older triggers on another forum, but were of no help on the newer triggers.

I have done several Winchester 70 triggers without honing. Honing helps but isn't alway needed. Here is a link to sniper country.

just be very aware that altering the spring tension is the reason for slam fires. you can make up a bit of ground with a spring adjustment, but be careful. I am  fan of perfect sear engagement and safe spring tension.
