What would it take ?

Just wanted to know what some of you on here would think about getting a taxidermy organization started here in this state. This way we can start doing shows, competitions, etc. I'm not sure why we don't have one here in this state. Is it just not enough people interested in this area
Just like to hear on some comments on this.

Would it mean cheaper prices?

At one point I believe their was one. But I think it included a few other states. I think it fell apart. Would be nice to have one!

Michelle:
Your exactly right there was one and I'm not quite sure if it disbanded or not. It was called the NW Taxidermy Assn. It included Washington, Oregon Idaho and I think possibly Montana. There was some talk about there being a annual show and competition but it never seemed to get off the ground. I would be interested in forming an official state Taxidermy Assn. Maybe I'll start a post to see what kind of interest there is

I'm in Kuduman.
I heard the exact same thing. I believe it disbanded because no one could get along and nothing got done.
Are we talking about doing it for WA state alone or another NWTA?

I would be in either way. I just would like to see something to where everyone that's interested in these areas be able to participate and meet new friends and learn different ideas. Seems like it works for other states but who can afford to travel to other states all the time. There is one in Oregon every year Kalamath Falls way southern Oregon and this year in Helena Mt. I guess if all fails there are those options.

I would recommend a state organization VS. a regional organization because that's already failed and I don't think it would be received well. Locations for events would be based on the number of participants and where they reside. It wouldn't make sense to have 90% of the members travel just because.
I know some of the old members of the NWTA and I'll try to find out more maybe if there is enough interest we can re=establish the old Assn without having to jump through any redundant hoops

I agree on the state organization over the regional. Would keep everything local and with in the state.
