First Shed of 2010
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:46:55 PM »
I went out on saturday to see if any deer are dropping yet. Started to walk a fence line and found this little guy within 10 minutes.

That's not a "shed", is it?  Looks like it was busted off fighting.  Or am I seeing it wrong...?
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Looks like it was busted off and it also looks like it could be a year or two old.  :dunno:

Nice find.

Its definitely been out there for a year or too. I looked at the break and thought it looked a little unusual but never thought of the possibility of it breaking off from a fight.  I will try to get some more pics up soon.

Got some more pics of it for you guys. I put a box of shells next to it to help judge the size and got a closer shot of the break area. Im not sure if that is velvet on the back that never came off or what it is.

Nice - thanks for the added pics.  Moose battles can be viscious, just like elk when they really go off the deep end over cows.  They go nuts and stuff gets broken.

I'd love to see the bull that he was fighting when he broke that thing off at the base like that.
