This is great information. Thank you for taking the time to share it so thoroughly. I have thought many times about heading over there and knocking on some doors. However, it is a pretty big area and I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm willing to offer the farmers quid pro quo.
I was in the Northeast corner of the state last year for the Whitetail hunt and I saw some turkeys but not many. However, it was November.

Great looking pictures from your NE Hunts.  Your efforts are paying big dividends. Welcome to the board, you've hit on a great forum.

Nope there are no turkeys in the NE wa. :chuckle:
Hunting on public lands is so stinking hard.  I could shoot deer and t-birds at my folks house, but feel it is cheating, or shooting, not hunting.  I enjoy the challenge that public land offers.  Pluse I dont have to clean anything or drang anything out the woods.
After reading this I see it might look like I am knocking people who hunt private land, and that was not my intention.  I should start knocking and talking so I can score the "first".  I just enjoy the extra challange of public land hunting.  So stinking frusterating it makes me want to give up hunting all together, and I think that is what drives me.  Make something easy and I dont really have a great drive to do it, make it hard as heck and I am all over it.  Good luck to all I really hope to go t-birding this year, had to mis the last two   :(

I enjoy both public and private land hunting ... just don't have quite as many people coming in to my calling/ setup on the private land as is the case on public land.  :bash:
