audad down!!!
« on: January 25, 2010, 04:12:48 PM »
Well boys and girls Sarah and I ROCKED Texas! The hunt was great we had some great days and lots of sheep.
The sheep where just like hunting any other wild sheep I have hunted. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to
go south after Audad. The weather was great in the 60's and sunny. On the second morning we spotted a herd of
about 50 sheep with 2 shooters in it. With that we started the mile stock. Two canyons and a wash later we
where right on top of them. The wind was blowing in there direction and we had to make a fast decision. We chose to go right at them and hope the wind would push the herd up the hill straight away from us. Well that is just what happend I ranged the
hill prior to moving into position so there was no guessing. the first shot came at a great ram 167 yards he turned to look back and that was it head shot and he took a dirt nap! Ram number 2 pulled away from the herd and was running straight away
at 180 and I put the cross hairs on the back of his head and the 300um put him to sleep! Sarah chose not to shoot this trip and was the photo women.

Yeah these two rams are 8 yrs old and both tape out 26 inchs. This is like shooting a 30 inch Muley buck!
