I walked within 5 feet of this antler last year  TWICE.  It must have been covered in snow.

I'm new here, but am BIG TIME (not like Jimmy) into shed hunting. I found my first shed of the year on Tuesday, a nice 4 pt blacktail (from last year). Last year I found A LOT of Deer and elk antlers, quite a few matched sets and have 4 of the elk antlers (2 of the sets) in the record books (and mounted on plaques of course). The biggest advantage I have for finding soooo many sheds here on the wetside, is a great dog that is trained for shed hunting (as well as birds, dock dog stuff and obedience). Average finds of my dog vs me? I find 1, she finds 6. I had no idea how many I was missing before her! She is a featured dog that Cabin Creek Kennels uses and shares her accomplishments at sportsmans shows in OR and CA. She is on websites, had articles about her, and will be at the Sportsmans show in Puyallup today (Friday) for Inverness Kennels. She has been written about by the Oregon Shed Hunters and many more.

That is just awesome that your dog is trained that way.  How much to rent her for a week?   :P  Welcome..

My two blacktail sheds thus far.  Both lefts.  Went out last night for a couple hours with my 15W halogen mountain bike light to get some exercise and try something new.  I didn't find any but it was a great night hike nontheless.  Jumped three deer near my driveway when I returned.

That was the sole purpose for last night's hike.  Been slammed with work and the spring green-up is already underway so I need to spend as many hours aas possible in boots!  I NEED those bones!  And last year's for that matter  :bash:

All whitetail antlers thus far! The chewed up antler I have walked by at least once before, but may have walked by it many times.
