I need to post the pics but I've found a two year old 7pt elk shed with a 55 6/8" main beam  :o, a chewed whitetail, the world's smallest brown moose shed, and just yesterday a forky blacktail skull.  Been putting on the miles with very little to show for it  :bash:.  I have about 60 hours into blacktail shed hunting now with only two finds (posted previously).  No gimme's that's for sure!

bow4elk, have you seen any blacktails still packing? I've got my game cam out and I'm hoping to get some pictures of bucks w/antlers.

No, I pulled all my cameras a few weeks ago.  I did see a forky whitetail running full tilt up a hill on Saturday...and a 330 class bull too.

Nope - nada.  I've been at a LOT too, even at night with my 15W halogen mountain bike lights.  I'm checking all the "no, they wouldn't be in there" spots now, but then again, it's big country and they could literally be anywhere.  But given where I've found three of his sheds, I tend to think they drop them in the same vicinity annually.  Last year was severe weather; this year very mild so who knows?  :dunno:

Here's are pics of the other stuff I've found.  The elk shed was VERY chewed, right down the main beam on his tops.

My mother and I went out today... beautiful day here for the most part. Saw a lot of deer... none with headgear still attached, but no luck still at finding the browns. We did find 3 whites though! Heard some coyotes howling but we were on property that the owner likes the coyotes so we weren't hunting... but thought it would be fun to take some photos. Howled on the cottontail call and was shocked at the result: FIVE dogs! ...two of those being domestic. We were a long ways away from houses... its unfortunate those critters are allowed to roam 2+ miles away from home. While we were watching a lab mix and husky mix work their way across the draw we almost missed the three coyotes we had also attracted. We waited for the dogs to move on past (they walked 20 yards or less by us without noticing) and called again. Got the yotes to within 60 yards, stood up and clicked some photos. Great day in the field overall.

And... as the 3 pt. layed.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Found my first ever blacktail shed today on a fluke.  The kids wanted to go shed hunting so I went along with it.  It was a little 3 point until the porcupines and squirrels got to it.  now it is basically a main bean with nubs.

Took my dog out today... covered a LOT of country... seen atleast 6 bucks that had shed in the canyon I worked with her and I only found 2 old sheds... one is the three point with eye guards and also found a spindley 4 pt.  Both were 2-3 years old.

I spotted both sheds and then go Kaci within 15-20 yards and she found both and brought them to me!   Pretty happy with that...
