this will be my 3rd year hunting, I came down with the "sickness" bad! She didn't know what hit her, one day it was drag racing ,in the grage countless hours. Next thing you know.  Theres a gun safe with 4 rifles and a closet full of camo.

 I think i need help.  :P

I think everyone who visits this board has the same disease. Hopefully they will never find a cure.  :)

I have heard of only one cure- but the disease has taken over that part of my brain too so I don't remember what it was.
This closet is taken- go find your own

I believe there is no cure, only support groups such as this, however there are thousands that relapse in the fall months of the year. PETA has been working on a cure for years, however they are useless and cannot pull their heads out of their butts long enough to do anything really good.

Reminds me of the Sportsmans Show yesterday. Was a family around a bunch of mounts and the mother kept telling the girl to stay away from them. They used to be alive.... till someone shot them. Said it a couple of times and emphasized that someone shot them lol. Doesn't seem to agree with it, kind of like my wife, but probably knows her husband is going to do it no matter what.

Right there with you.

I am an Elk Addict.

I get worse as the year progresses closer to early season. Come September, my neck starts to swell up, my eyes glaze over, and been known to piss myself.  After late season is over . I spend the next nine months, working on how I am going to get my next Elk Fix.

Nope, no sickness here.

I have had the sickness for as long as I can remember - I think my wife is starting to catch it now, I just bought her a bow yesterday and we were up just about all night setting it up and looking into upgrades. She is already asking what she will need to do to go hunting with it.

PS. It only took 4.5 years for her to catch it.

I'm lucky.  My wife grew up in a very avid hunting family, she shot a few deer and antelope but doesn't have the bug.  However, she thinks it keeps husbands from chasing skirts, hanging out in bars, doing drugs and is a very healthy alternative.  She'd far rather I hunt.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I have been a drunk for the last 13 or so years and am on the recovery path now, thankfully I never got into the drugs or skirts. I always liked to hunt, but let the Coors Light run the show. Now I am using you guys and the great outdoors as my therapy. I hope to trade one addiction for the other. This will be my first "real" year that it will be for the hunt with the kids too, hopefully they will get the bug with me. And my wife is going to take hunters ed with the youngest daughter this year. Thanks Guys!
