i agree, that hand calls can sound better.but i don't like to sit blowin a mouth call off and on for 1hr at each stand for cats and bear. i like my foxpro to do the talking and we have had good luck on cats and bear.

Boy ric, hand calling for lion, sounds like russian roulette to me.  Have you had any close encounters where you walked away and thought that maybe that one was just to close.  I read an article about a man in Arizona who has made a living on calling lions, i cant remember his name but you may know the guy i am referring to.  Some of the close calls he wrote about made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.  I try year after year to call in a lion and have been doing so for around 10 years, maybe someday but we will see.

:)You are a great caller Rick, just use your hand calls awhile, set the Foxpro in your work room. It don't cost anything to keep it. Then if you want you have it!

have had 4 cougar's behind me with Hand call's and several bobcat. i call alot of bobcat's when calling bear on the coast. had one laying to the left of me around 5 yard's bobcat in timber edge scared me the worst of anything. was calling on the coast fell asleep woke up and a bocat was turning back around in the berry bushs 10 yard's in front of me. have had some cool event's. the cougar's are useaull sitting or laying with twitching tail or a glimpes moving through opening. just curous what other's think.calling bear's i dont worry as much.
