Washington State Record Book - 2010 edition deadline approaching
« on: February 01, 2010, 09:10:36 PM »
I talked with David Morris today. He runs NW Big Game, Inc. which is the record keeping organization that publishes the state record books for WA, ID, OR, and MT.  The new Washington book will be published this fall. The deadline for entry is May 15th, so if you have animals you'd like entered and included in the 2010 book, let me know and we can figure out plans to get them scored and entered.  NW Big Game also has shed categories and a category for Cascade Roosevelt elk (I-5 to the crest of the Cascade Range).

David told me of (4) yes, FOUR, Washington bulls that scored in the 380's this past weekend at the Puyallup Sportsman's Show.  Kinda wish I'd made plans to work the show this year!

$20 + $5 additional if you want a certificate suitable for framing.  Here's the process and costs: http://www.nwbiggame.com/submit.cfm

I emailed them 3 times in two years to see about submitting a story. Not once did I get a reply.  :dunno:

I payed for and entered 6 archery bucks that were all high up in the rankings and only 2 of them made it in and it was the 2 middle ones.  They did nothing to straighten it out so I told them where to stuff their book.  Like a lot of guys, my buddy I have a bunch that qualify but will never be entered because of the b.s.!

can someone who has the book tell me if an elk shed I entered actually made it in? it was a rocky typical that scored 187 6/8 I believe.

It it did, I'll buy a copy.

Just an update on the new Washington book.  David told me this morning, "The book will be in our hands the first week of January.  We will then ship all pre-orders.  Thanks for being patient."

If you have not pre-ordered yours, do it today to get in on the first shipment!

The Washington State Record book was to out in June, 2010 but I have not seen it nor can I get any response from NW BIG Game. I paid in advance last spring and nothing yet. Could be we all will have to pick them up at the shows or we got ripped off. Should be interesting to see. Several dates have come and gone for the 3rd Edition.

I called them this week and was told they were going to be mailed next week so hopefully we will get them before the shows, they definately started selling them prematurely.
