Wyoming Elk!!!
« on: February 02, 2010, 07:59:04 PM »
Did you put in this year???  What unit??   Unit 30 for me and scroder with max points.  It sure is bad when you put in for something that has about a 3% draw chance and you still get excited for the draw.

I have put in the last two years and have been lucky enough to draw two years in a row, probably just end up with points this year. :P

Still building points Jack. We'll let folks burn points for another year or 2 and figure it out...

My bags are packed for that unit 113 tag I put on for. This unit will probably have the worst draw odds in the whole state. So I'm not holding my breath.

( put in max points, special draw )

I am pretty sure that there are no points for residents........better use them while you still have your non-res status!

Well if I get hired to the company I want to, I'll be stationed out of bozemen MT or CO somewhere so it definitely couldn't hurt but Thanks for the advice I'll def keep that in mind!  BTW how many points does it usually take to draw an "H" deer tag?  Where can I check the draw odds for each region?  Thanks!

Use Monster Muleys.....it's got all the states in one place.   "H" can be drawn with 0 points, but 1 point will guarantee a tag.    You can also use the Special License to further increase your odds.   The best country in "H" is in the wilderness, so, if you don't have a resident sponsor, I would go with "G".   Same beautiful high country, but you can hunt everywhere.   "G" can be drawn with 0 points, but takes 2 points to guarantee a tag if I remember correctly?   Either way, they are the best areas IMO to shoot a 180" plus mule deer when you consider that you can literally hunt them every year on the special license.    Some guys like to build points, and some guys like to hunt........ :chuckle:  I like to hunt.
