Opinions on Traditions
« on: February 03, 2010, 10:18:06 AM »
Just bought a  new traditions thunderbolt 50cal that was modified by the factory to be legal in Washington?   Anybody have an opinion on these??   I am planning on sighting in next week.   Plan on starting with 90 grains and a Hornady 300 grain sabot.   I like the feel better than the old 54 Hawkins I sold before this one.

Thanks for any help

Ive had bad times with traditions firearms. Although i had the northwest edition. It was a brake action and it damn near killed me. Closed it to to shot and BOOM. Good thing the muzzle was pointed in a safe direction. Not sure about your model but i did not like mine. And it was supposed to come with fiber optic sight too and when i got it all sights were black. No dots or anything. Had to call the company and get them sent to me. Just my  :twocents:

I have a tracker with #11 cap.  I was shooting 345? grain power belts copper jacketed.  I have only shot it a few times but it likes 130 grains of pyro pellets with that bullet, dead on at 100 yards.  I am going to put a peep on it and sight in more better latter.  I like mine, cammo stock and nickel barrel.  Good so far, only 10 shots threw her though.

I have Buckhunter Pro 50 cal with a black plastic stock  and the 14" BHP pistol. Never had any problems with the rifle except I had to put T/C sights on to replace the toystore quality sights that were on it. Had to do a pile of mods& improvements on the pistol but its set up nice now. I only paid 150 for the rifle and am quite happy with it.
