I don't think there are any states that offer over-the-counter antelope tags. But you still have plenty of time to apply for a tag, at least in Montana I know you have until June 1st. You'd have pretty good odds of drawing a tag your first try for eastern Montana. Wyoming might also be a possibility especially if you apply for a unit that is 100% private land. You just may have to pay a trespass fee, but the tags are easier to draw.

do a search on here for wyoming antelope. there's several threads on the topic. there's no OTC tags but there's units where your draw odds are right at 100%. those units will be mostly private land, but wyo fish and wildlife has pretty good resources for out of state hunters and land access.

thanks guys. i was thinking montana because galpster has family there we went up for a hike yesterday and we kinda toyed with the idea of it. the only factor would be money. we would have a place to stay and his family as guides. so it would just be licence and tags. and unfortunatly times are tough. money is definetly an object in my case

Montana has no OTC rifle hunts. They have guaranteed archery tags but you still have to apply.

Montana is a little over $200 ($205 I think..), Wyoming is almost $300.  I tried for MT last year and didn't get drawn, but that gives me a point for this year, so as long as I put in for units that are reasonably easy to draw, I should get a tag this year.  I have heard that if you put in for the 700 units (southeastern) getting drawn is a done deal.  THat's not necessarily true (I put in 4 years ago for the 700, and didn't get drawn), but it may be your best bet if you have 0 points.  If nothing else, bank your preference point and you should be able to get a tag for 2011.
You can also "buy" a preference point in WY for $30.  Do that a couple of years in a row, and by 2012 or 2013 you can apply for one of the better trophy units in that state, and you will likely get drawn. :twocents:
