Eastside elk don't drop antlers until mid-March at the earliest.  Best time to make a trip is late March-early April.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Yep, mid March at the earliest.  2 years ago I picked up a 5 point shed while I was turkey hunting opening day of turkey season, just minutes after it dropped.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

What they said.  I've also seen numerous large bulls when I've been turkey hunting with antlers still attached.  You might find deer antlers, though.

yeah the only fresh bone you may find yet is deer sheds. i talked with a game bio a couple weeks ago and he said elk may drop a little later this year because of the weak winter we had.
