Fio Rito was good today
« on: February 08, 2010, 07:27:53 PM »
the 4 of us caught 20 fish in about 4 hours. I had one fish on that was about 20 in. plus. I fought it for about 10 minute and when I got it about 15 feet from the boat it came off. It bent the treble hooks on the lure I was using. The fish in the picture is 19 1/2 inches. all the other fish were about 8-11 in. Good day out on the lake. We were trolling flies and spinners.

Nice. Did not know the ice was off.
Should be great eating in that cold water

It only has ice at the south end. If the weather keep up like it is it should be all gone by next week. Only about 1/4 of it left to thaw out.  The whole time we were there only one guy on shore landed one fish. It is best to be out there in a boat. Dark woolly buggers, bright silver spinners and kast masters worked for us. Troll it on the number 2 speed with the electric motor. If you use a fly stick a small ball of green power bait with sparkles on the hook. ;)

Power bait on my fly
Gotcha!

I usually don't start fishing there until April, but might have to start a little earlier this year. Wife bought me a smoker for Xmas.
Probably see you down there.
