well if they wanted to save some elk numbers in the nile and bumping they could of just closed the late season..........Whoevers idea it was to open the best quality hunt this state has to offer needs to go back to school and learn the numbers again.  Now theres gonna be another unit in trouble....Sad Sad :'(  And oh yeah i drew the archery bull tag last year up there Thank Lord i got to experience before this anyhow all i have to say is could of shot cows everyday and i was there for 12 days.  Didnt score on the bull tag but it wasnt for the lack of bulls thats for sure.  See you all up there..

One of my hunting partners got drawn for this hunt, and I got drawn for another area. Been putting in for quite a few years now and it seems it was almost a waste of 6 points. From the sounds of it he will have plenty of company, and hope it works out well for him. Personally I will be avoiding the area.

ya had 2 buddies that had that tag last year. had a great time. This year will be another story. I am sure if you get away from the roads you will be fine but there will be a butt load of people.

I'm brand new to this site and I thank you all as this is full of good information.  Long ago I used to hunt LN during modern rifle with my father.  I have been putting in for Peaches Ridge bull tags and I have been a loser for 9 years.  I now have 10 points !!!!  I'm planning on heading up to LN for the early hunt, can't leave until the morning of the 6th, probably won't be a bare spot of ground to throw down a sleeping bag.

I know most of Little Naches very well, but have never been out to Cougar Valley, Crow Lake, etc.  Is that a good place to get away from the crowds, if it is possible????
What can I expect out there???  My plan is to have a base camp in the zoo/circus/whatever, and backpack in for a couple days at a time.  Base camp is for the older hunters in my group who can't do the backpack.

Help!!!

Well Guys,

I new this year was going to be a bit different beings how they changed the Spike and Cow to 346. BUT TODAY IS WEDNESDAY THE 1st! I was over in the Naches setting up Elk camp. I thought I was really early in doing this. WRONG.. Sad to say that Little NAches area had elk hunters rolling in all day today. Not Jeepers or motorcycle weekend campers.....Hunters. The area we have been scouting all summer. Had a tent set up in the area just to give the illusion that they were going to be hunting there. Unless you guys that are heading up the little Naches area to hunt are going to go deep far away from the roads, you may want to consider a backup plan. I am not even playing with you. Just my observation of today.

Good luck Guys!
