Donate to a newby hunter?
« on: February 14, 2010, 08:16:36 PM »
Anyone around marysville have a couple sheds to donate to a newby hunter by chance? I am not picky, just interested in something I could rattle come deer season to try to attract some food into rifle range.

I don't have any to donate but the deer have started to drop right now. Hit the woods and you might be able to find some. If you can take a weekend off get over to the N.E. corner and find some whitetail sheds...they make for some good rattling antlers.
Just one more day

I don't have the foggiest idea where to find the deer though. I am planning on starting hunting on small game and hope that by deer season that I will have found a few places with deer. I am plannign to start scouting GMU 448 once I get my license since that is pretty close to where I live, and hope to maybe bag some coyotes, then from september will be looking for racoons and forest grouse.

This year will be my first year hunting and I don't know anyone that hunts so I have been trying to learn online. So far the only information I have been unable to find is where the critters live.

You could look at yard sales, estate sales or flea markets, better yet go to the woods where the deer have winter over and find some for yourself before they outlaw shed hunting.
