Silly question
« on: February 15, 2010, 12:17:36 PM »
After reading the proposed changes, I noticed the change for youth permits

B. Special hunting seasons for youth: Only persons who are
eligible to lawfully purchase a youth ((hunting license)) special
hunt application
are eligible to apply for special hunting season
permits for youth.

Does this mean, I can start applying for ghost point for my children who have not completed "Hunter Safety" yet?

They would have to have a WILD I.D. number which would mean they would have to buy a hunting license. Or maybe a fishing license would work ???   ;)

I would like to start building up points for my 2 year old and 4 year old daughters as well. I'm not sure about that new wording, doesn't make sense. You have to purchase a hunting license first in order to purchase deer and elk tags, and the tags have to be purchased before buying the special permit applications.... or do they ???   Yes I think so because at least for elk you have to decide on east or west tag before purchasing the permit apps. Well either way, a person under 18 is required to have hunter education before buying a hunting license. So I see no way to start building points for young children until they pass hunter's ed.

You have to purchase a hunting license BEFORE you buy a special hunt application.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

You don't for the moose, sheep, and goat permits. Which is why they are so popular with the non-residents. I think that's what sticknstring was saying.

Oh, I see.  I guess that makes sense.  Just call WDFW and tell them they'll make more money that way.  THey'll go for it...

I was just thinking that my 8 month old son would have enough points to draw a moose tag some time before he was an old man.

On the other hand, if you just SELL him to WDFW, they will probably give you a moose tag...
