XLR8 Smashes 400fps Barrier with ease!!!!!!
« on: February 15, 2010, 05:04:18 PM »
Proof is in the picture. Arrow weight and setup is confidential. I will offer that the bow was set at an even 80 pounds.

I will say that I am absolutely floored by how well this bow performed. It was exceptionally quiet and smooth all the way around. I am ecstatic and extremely excited to get it set up and dialed in as I have a feeling it is going to be a serious performer in every way possible.

I will also add how much I appreciate all the help from the crew at Rainier Archery. You guys are are the REAL DEAL in my book. Thanks allot JBAR for helping me through those tense few moments up to the BIG HURRAH!!!!! WOW!!! that was something else all together.

That is the loudest bow I have ever heard, and the farthest thing from smooth. When someone shoots it in the shop it turns heads for sure.  :yike: :twocents: :twocents: Hope it works for u.
HOW FAR OUT OF LEGAL HUNTING WEIGHT WERE U???? :dunno:

Why would the setup be confidential...just curious?

Pretty fast bow...good luck with it.

DDDDDDDDDAMN!  That's pretty impressive.  On the software, 80#, 31" draw, 27" High Country Speed Pro Max w/ 30 grain point weight shows 411 fps, so I'll bet I'm close.  That's a 207 grain arrow, though; 2.6 gr/lb is grounds for wearing protective clothing....fun but scary.  Kinda like going 120 on a snowmobile.  Think how much power that would deliver with a hunting arrow at 600 grains!

Carbon Tech Safari (.200 spine) @ 29", 125 grain head, 628 grain arrow, 325 fps, 147.4 ft-lbs KE!
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

A friend of mine bought an 80# Monster XLR8 at 31" it shot a GT 7595 weighing 445 gr at 349 fps. It sounds like a rifle going off and a tunning fork in your hand :yike: :yike:

Wow the arm chair critics come flying in just like clockwork. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Sitting here laughing my guts out. I am goint to hunt in Oregon this year and  Oregon has a minimum bow poundage restriction, not an arrow weight restriction like here. Those arrows at 414 fps are perfectly legal to hunt with in Oregon and they are cranking out 105 lbs of KE. My Washington Legal hunting arrow, for all you out there who are turning green with envy is 334 fps. Gold Tip Big Game 100+ to the tune of 116 lbs of KE.

The reason for not stating the arrow weight is I have allot of blood sweat and tears so to speak invested in getting to that level. If you want to do it too then go spend some money and start figuring it out.

we talked before, glad to hear everything went well. i am suprised your hunting arrows here are not a bit more faster. my x force at 83 lbs with my washington legal arrows are 335fps but the 100+ are a bit heavyer than my shafts.good luck i shoot 1 pin to 40 yards i bet with those light arrows you could shoot 1 pin to 50  :yike:

Here is an interesting article I came across recently when searching for bow reviews.
