For all of those that don't agree what Wapiti is doing haven't you ever wanted to build a hot rod and take it to the track and see how fast you can go? I know I bought an 1100cc bike when I was younger just to go fast!

I think if someone posted on here that they got a wildcat round to shoot some astonishing speed from their rifle we'd all be oohing and awing of how fast it was but since it's a bow it's a bad thing.

I don't think anybody agrees or disagrees with what he's doing. I mean who really gives a flying crap...I think folks think it's a little nuts to shoot an arrow(or the bow for that matter)that could grenade and splinter at any shot, don't care how carefully you inspect it every time, and I think people think it's a little odd with all the secret squirrel stuff....whats the point really? because he wants to be the only one who does it? It's just wierd...I don't disagree, I don't care if the bow grenades or the arrow shatters and goes through his hand.

Where was everyone else standing in the shop when he shot?

All I have to say is I get a large amount of inner joy from doing things like this. For me that is the only reason I need. When I hunt I hunt for the sheer pleasure I get from disappearing into the woods by myself and letting go of my God given abilities and letting them run free. I enjoy pushing the limits of those abilities for my own personal joy. I don't need to be better or faster than anybody else. What I do need is to be able to explore my physical talents and abilities without somebody telling me that I can't or shouldn't. It does nothing for my ego to say that I am fastest or faster than anybody, absolutely nothing at all. It makes me feel very good inside knowing that I accomplished something that we set out trying to do a very long time ago. The only reason we did it was a certain bow company just so happens to know what the heck they are doing and built a very special piece of equipment that will do it.

People forget so easily. My Hoyt was set to 100+ pounds and shot an arrow at 396 fps. I have been doing this for about 8 years now and never once had a single close call. You all act as if I am new to archery or something and am unaware of the dangers associated with it. I really am not as stupid as some of you make me out to be.

There is a reason why I drive a 600 horsepower dodge diesel truck. It's not because I want to brag that I have more power than the next guy or race and say that I beat somebody else. The reason is because when I step on the go pedal and the turbo starts to sing and I start to sink back into the seat and you feel like you are in a jet plane taking off, I get butterflies in my stomach. It makes me happy. I can't explain it any better than that.

I have always pushed myself to the limits of my abilities. Even as a child. Is it a fault? :dunno: You tell me. This is who I am. I can't help it. I do it because I can't help it. There is nothing inside of me that tells me not to do it. I have always had the mind set that I can or at least I am going to try my darndest before I say I can't.

If anybody thinks that I am trying to say I am better than you, you are mistaken. I simly posted this because it really meant something for me to accomplish. I really had a good feeling inside when 414 popped up on the screen. I hope I have not given any the wrong impression by my posts recent or past on my motives. I simply enjoy pushing myself. Is that such a bad thing????

I apologize to any and all for any current or past comments I may have made in haste that may have hurt somebodies feelings. I am just trying to enjoy being crazy old me, hope you can understand that.

I want to hear more about your 600hp dodge truck.  Obviously the "details" are secret, but what year and such?  I drive by you every day.  Never seen it.  Always the green work truck.  I've seen one in the area that had something going on.  Older style red truck.  Passed a pile of us by your driveway.  I'm guessing that was you:)

Yes the 2000 Red  quad cab. Edge drag comp, Scheid lightning injection pump, Fass Fuel pump, Volant cold air, 5" Turbo Back exhaust, Bank High Ram, Edge 150 HP Injector Nozzles, Dynomite Diesel Built HX 40 turbo (Man does it sing). Full Billet Transmission with TCS multi disc billet TC, including ATS billet flex plate. I tore the middle out of the stock one.LOL! Oh almost forgot the Snow performance Water methanol injection kit.

I believe that sums it up for performance mods. Fixed the head gasket a couple times. Next mod will be arp 625 headstuds.

If you have seen a red truck blowing smoke out here that was me. LOL!!!!

The reason for not stating the arrow weight is I have allot of blood sweat and tears so to speak invested in getting to that level. If you want to do it too then go spend some money and start figuring it out.

That is one of THE most jacked up, selfish things that I have ever heard in my life.  Here's a question for you.  WHY wouldn't you want to help someone out?  Look at someone like Todd.  He jumps through hoops helping others out.  I could understand if it was a secret hunting spot but your bow setup?  What good is knowledge if you keep it too yourself?  The asnwer is it's worthless.

Maybe it seems foreign because I've always been taught to be a team player.  Whether it was team sports or while in the military.  The motto I grew up with was "live as a team, die as a team."

WOW. I sent Him a personal message along with quite a few different folks on here and disclosed the arrow and the weight. I didn't feel like posting it because it would bring responses like this from dingalings like you. If I post the light arrow weight it took to do this then I will get bashed for using too light an arrow. Either way I am going to get bashed for doing this. Thanks for the that Colokum. That was real classy.

The first part of my post was off.  So I appologize.  I didn't realize that you PM'd the guy your setup.  To me how I read your post was that you had information that might help someone out and you were keeping it from others.  That's how the post read to me.  It still does.  But if it was simply so no one would give you crap for your setup than I understand.

BTW I do think it's pretty sweet that you can shoot 414fps.  I saw a guy on tv shoot one 451 fps with a Bowtech 82nd airborn.  But he shot a 200 grain arrow and said never try this at home.  This is purely for exhibition only.  Cool stuff.

Thanks Colokum. I have a good sense of when to leave well enough alone. 414 is enough. Could we jack it up and shoot a 200 grain arrow. Sure. I might be part crazy but I am not insane. :chuckle:

Yeah the guy said that shooting an arrow that light was basically like dry firing the bow.  He only shot it like that twice.  And he most definately had eye protection on.  It was still pretty cool to see that those numbers though.

  My tongue is bleeding.......

Cool to hit the 400 mark.  Not real proud of the secret warranty stuff, also kinda reminds me of the elk hunt.......

Be careful!  This *censored* is serious.  I'd ust assume not see a picture of you split in half when that cable snaps.  Life is fun, but it can be a bitch.

Considering that I am currently unemployed..............the bow is still hanging on the shelf waiting to be paid off. Got about half left. As soon as I get it set up and dialed in I will post up some results and pictures.
