Thompson center Venture Predator
« on: February 15, 2010, 09:24:33 PM »
Any of you guys seen the new thompson center venture predator? The offer them in 243,22-250 and 204 ruger with a 1 in 10 barrel twist. The 204 with that twist should stablize heavier bullets better.I think there supposed to sell for $400 to $500 range. So what do you guys think of the new TC predator?

Was looking at that one also. I think it's actually an econo version of the Icon but it looks pretty darn sweet to me for the money. Also looking at the TC Pro Hunter in the predator version. It'll probably be a couple months before we see them in the shops. Anyone have any experience with the TC's? Good or bad?

Go pick one up and give the stock a twist, it will flex like a wet noodle. I don't like to buy new guns that I have to restock.

Looking at the .204 ruger, missed one hell of a deal at Wholsale last week, they had a Rem. 700 VS stainless synthetic with fluted barrel for $440 someone got it right before I got there :bash: So I started looking at the TC's then found the predator guns on their website and thought they were pretty cool.

It's got a 1 MOA guarantee.  I don't care if the stock is made out of rubber.

I shoot a T/C Encore and it's a tack driver with 300wm and 22-250 barrels.

Its what most folks call a tupper ware stock and this is one of the worst I have seen. Some folks dont seem to mind it, but an unstable stock does not make an accurate gun. Try bedding an action in that plastc piece of crap But in keeping with other threads here cleaning your barrel is not required, breaking in barrels is useless. So every bench rest shooter in the world has been wrong all these years. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have a Venture in .30-06 and it shoots one hole 5 shot groups all day long!!!!  I think it's well worth the money for a nice light hunting rifle!

Ditto, I picked up the .270 and its dead-on.

In regards to 're-stocking' it... good luck, replacement stocks don't seem to exist. Haven't noticed any flex either

The Encores next on my list
Theres plenty of room for all of gods animals.... right next to the mashed potatoes!

If there were problems with the stocks, T/C would fix it I bet. I have Encores, no problems at all. Never.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
