Best TICK repellent ?
« on: June 04, 2010, 09:50:23 AM »
What are you using for tick repellents, what works best for you ?

(i.e. Garlic, Avon "Skin-so-soft", DEET, etc...)

Looks like a bad year and want to get ready.

Stay home and watch TV. ;)
or Tuck your pant legs, wear long sleeve, and a hat. Take your clothes off when you get home (outside) and leave them out for a couple of days.
I really don't believe any of the repellants work effectively

PS. if they do attach they really don't eat that much!

Best stuff in the world:  Permanone Tick Repellent  It goes on your clothes, NOT your skin and make sure after you spray your clothes you let it dry first before you wear the clothes.

During the turkey season we used the 40% deet and we saw ticks but they left us alone. Jeff actually had 3 on him, Cody and i had non and we both sprayed down with the 40% deet before our hike, not sure if it was the deet that kept them off of us but i will use it from now on.

Blouse and look....
I always look for em... 90% of the time youll feel the sticky leg suckers crawlin on ya...
I generally put deet on my socks/boot tops (i still hunt mostly), my underwear band, and around my sleeves and neck collar on the inside.. Doesnt seem to effect the elk or deer, and generally dont get ticks on my bare skin...
