snapshot can we show up friday and is there room there for tenting i didnt pre register but i want to come down and can you shoot friday as well thank you for any information

Tents all over the pasture, I recommend as early as you can get there Friday to get a good spot to put up your tent..
I am going to be rolling in before noon with my whole tribe..
Last time we got there in the afternoon and we were all the way out by road, wasn't too bad, but a long walk to all the activity.
(although we did have a grouse come by our campsite)

SSB nailed it in his reply regarding getting there early on Friday (except... it is only a LONG arrow volley from one end of the camp area to the other). Yes the courses will be open on Friday.

I called it a long walk because my daughter Brigette was 3 and my daughter Ruby was 8 months, Mom wanted to her turns to shoot, and I had to walk back and forth several times a day.
Shooting the course with a baby in a car seat/carrier or backpack was interesting, but good practice.
This year we added Dylan, who will be almost a year old (June 16th) and probably will be the youngest shooter (even though he wont hit anything)

Rasbo you missed out. It was a fair bit wet however I met some new friends and old ones. I had brought 3 bows in case you showed up. There were at least 4 big time bowyers there selling goods and plenty of other ones.

I finally got a look at Toelke Tradtional Archery bows up close. They very smooth drawing and of great quality. Top notch. Personal preference - Bobcat.


Another bowyer which stood out was Bezaleel Bows.

And finally I also liked Fox Archery Breed bows.

Camping was social and wet. We chased some deer off the range in the mornings and I only lost 1 arrow to the river gods. Trust me - it's easy to do on one of those courses. They had 3 courses setup with one moving pronghorn target. Even in the weather it was worth visiting for a day and a half. I picked up some new hex shafts to try out.

My family had a great time, although a little wet.
My yougest daughter (4) had a little misshap with her little longbow that I had found at a thrift store her sister had used until it got too small for her.
She was practicing drawing it and it broke !! She was in tears.
I told her it was O.K., we had another bow she could use, a little fiberglass 20# we had to help her with.
She put up with that, and on Monday during the raffle she WON A BRAND NEW 12# @ 24" LONGBOW, FROM BLACK ROSE ARCHERY !!!
She will be having fun with that for a while !!
My oldest Daughter (7) did real well with her 18# @ 24" longbow (Maddog Pup) and even shared it with a girl there that had a bow that was a little too much for her, they had fun taking turns, but her dad said now he has to get her a "real" bow.
