Just an idea...
« on: February 20, 2010, 11:48:27 AM »
Thought of a way the forum could make some extra money for funds...
What if you used all the photos that won the Photo of the Month contest for a year straight, and then make a calander out of them?  I Would guess it would help pay funds!

We tried that...sort of, but many of the folks that won the contest would not submit their images or give permissions and it was a huge headache.

let us know how the "asking for permission" process works out for you?

This is one area where it is not better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

We could word the contest rules in such a way that it states that any winning photos may be used by HuntWA in any way that HuntWA chooses to use them.  That way you wouldn't have to try to secure permission/releases from anyone.   Many other such contests use this clause in their rules, and contributing photographers have a clear understanding up front.

Why limit it to only the winning shots, I have seen plenty "honorable mention" shots in the contest that would look nice.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

As far as I see it use any quality photos that members are willing to release. It doesn't need to be just the POM photos.  :twocents:
