Baiting coyotes?

I was wondering is baiting coyotes legal? Another thread got me thinking about breeding rabbits to eat, and using the urine as a scent lure for coyotes. I got to thinking more and was thinking well if I did breed how would I dispose of the entrails and/or pelts. This got me the idea of saving those to bait coyotes. I figure a big pile of stinky rabbit guts/skins would be an excellent coyote attractant if it is legal. What do yall think?

i dont belive that is legal though i dont think its illegal to dump those things out at your fav. hunting spot and ............................ though when we have caves die or old cows they dont get touched by the yotes for about 2 weeks they'll check things out but they dont seem to touch it for two weeks

Baiting yotes is perfectly legal.

They can smell anything humans have touched for a very long time.  I'm not sure how effective baiting would be.

I have a friend who has killed 23 so far this winter from baiting.

I dunno either. But I figured on dropping a pile of guts/skins doing some calls from 30-50 yards away and if nothing comes in, then leave and come back the next day to try again.

Hmm, that could be a problem for me then. I was hoping to be able to get them within 50 yards so I can pick em off with my .22.

just play the wind make sure you come in from the down wind side when aproching and if you try calling make sure your stand has the wind in your face from the direction you think they will come from if that is possible.

My friends bait pile is meat scraps he gets from the butcher, 50 gal barrels worth and they are 200+ yards from his shooting spots. He has shot several out to 300 yards and a couple under 100 yards.  I would doubt you would kill many under 50 yards.

You may be able to catch more flys with honey than vinigar, but a dead pig----will bring in alot of yotes.

The dairy's in my area will sometimes let you shoot off there dead pile.

sounds like fun to me.  I wonder if i could shoot them out of a tree stand with my bow over bait
