I no in SW and west Central Stevens CO. they ant that way, I have been talking to my land owners and they are saying that there are in there winter mode still, I'll get pics. next week when I head that way. They said, the birds have been strutting and gobbling for the last 3 weeks but the tom are with the tom, hen are with the hen and Jake's are with the Jake's

Ya but think this way, by the time you're hunting....that hen ain't gonna be messing around with any toms.....she'll be setting her clutch. One less evil witch out of the road

If those pictures don't get your blood pumping and heart beating a bit faster....you have never really turkey hunted  :drool:. Those are great pictures even if it is a bit earlier then we are used to.

Never seen a jake in those pictures those were all mature toms.  Take a look at the tail feathers all mature.

they were doing the same thing this time of year 2 years ago down on the tucannon and also 2 flocks I saw on the tatman mountain road. strutters all over, looked like the same general area to me. saw 1 neat looking longbeard with no tailfeathers. looked like a predator of some kind tried ripping him a new ass and missed. he was all puffed up strutting his stuff without a tail.
