Got back last night from another trip to porcupine bay, and ended up with 2 more limits of walleye. We threw about 6 or 7 smaller ones back, and they averaged around 15 inches or so. They were all males, and were in 40 to 55 feet of water hitting jigs tipped with a 1/2 worm as usual. I took a friend from church who hasn't fished for 14 years, and said that it was the first time that he had ever caught a limit of walleye so that was pretty cool. It was a VERY light bite, and 4 other boats saw us catching fish, and pulled in to give it a try but couldn't figure it out I guess because they never set the hook. Some times thats how the fishing goes. I did have a friend show up however with his boat with 3 people, and even though he was only there about 4 hours caught 23 right next to us. The only thing that he was doing differently was using braided line, and I think that made a huge differance while fishing in 50 feet of water, but then sometimes very subtle changes are all it takes. All in all it was a great day to be on the water, and NOT AT WORK!!!!.
