Dinking this weekend.  HEres a quick headshot through the wire of one of my up and coming breeders, or taxidermy specimens, whichever comes first.  I sent this directly to you AJ, but I don't think it went.

Thats mine.  I took the best of the best, or ones with the most melanistic traits.  They are genetic, then breed them to come up with the darkest bird possible. Some other folks in teh industry were doing the same thing, so I got genetics from them as well.  I think I came up with the perfect birds.  In the sunshine, they are incredible.  In this pic the sun is only on the tip of his head.  Unfortunalty I quick released 4 of these the other day.  One whole breeding group.  So far, I have recovered one.  The hawks are probably eating well.  I thought that the last time though, and he showed up about two weeks ago.  It was good to see he was still alive.  He was vary Hawky.

got a couple of our resident "wild" silver.   Hopeing he survives hunting season.  He keeps branching out, especially now that a lady escaped, and he has someone to leave with.

Great shots.  I am new to upland birds and I am trying to learn all I can  before I try and go hunting for them.  I am a bit overwhelmed with everything right now.  I was wondering what types of birds these are.  I got the Chukar figured out, but what about the other two?

The first one is a Melanistic Ringneck which you can find out in the wild, not nearly this quality as I have worked hard at enhancing the melanistic traits.  There are a few out in the Wenas though ;)   The latter is a Silver.  Not endemic and considered an exotic.

Thanks Ray.  I sure wish I could reproduce that comb in a mount.
