Question about a certain area
« on: March 08, 2010, 09:46:59 PM »
So I am looking for a new deer area,  I am just kinda finding areas with state land and driving there and scouting around.  I have found a new to me area.  We were scouting there today and saw a bunch of deer.  I would like to ask people here about it, but ....... the thing is you dont wanna draw a bunch of attention to it.  I did talk with a land owner/leaser and he didnt know much about the state land part, and all the private get hunted by owerns familys only.  So does anyone have any input on weather I should drop the name, or should I just wait till hunting seasone and see how much orange is out there.  Thinking about muzzy anywho and that would cut down the numbers, especially with the longer range shooting.  Well thanks for any tips.

Check out Wildlife's report on the GMU...hunters, hours spent, success ratio...this may help a bit...

Plus, it would be okay to ask for some private emails about GMU #888....etc.... I dont think that would be out of the question...

I checked the fish cops reports and the info was pretty good.  Not any front end stuffers hunting it.  Hunter days was about 14 and harvest rate was about 25%, not bad, but it is a smaller GMU.  All modern hunters on this chuck.  I am too chicken to post the name or number.  I trust that most would not search it out, but you never know who might google it.  Thanks for the info though.
