Instead of flashing a side arm to a bunny hugging hippy (which is called intimidating with a fire arm, illegal) just pull out your cell phone and call 911 for a cop. Harassment of a lawful hunter is also against the law.. Use the law to your favor..

:yeah:
And after the cop leaves offer to cook the hippie a nice, fresh deer steak dinner over an open fire of old growth logs.

You need to be respectful of the people/friends that were nice enough to let you hunt their land. If they ask you to be descrete, you need to do as they ask. That is a very small community over there and like all small towns, word travels quick. Last thing you want is an anti-hunter giving the land owner who was nice enough to grant you premission, a hard time!! Just be respectful of all involved.

I dont agree with non-hunters stance either, but chances are if an altercation takes place they will be even stronger in their stance and will make it tougher for all hunters.

I think that area is firearm restricted (might be wrong on that?), therefore you could use a crossbow.

Skinnyman, rifled slugs should give you better accuracy than 45 yards, especially with a sight other than just the bead.... They are nice and cheap to shoot compared to sabot slugs for rifled barrels, just find one your gun likes.

I didn't mean to go looking for a confrontation.  The anti's are usually the people that will get right up in your face and at times get physical.  I don't kno about you guys, but if someone is in my face, I draw my side arm, then pull out the phone and dial 911.  You will be suprised how fast the cops get there.  Don't get me wrong. I would be looking for trouble.  But these people are unreasonable.
By the way, I do stand up for my rights as a hunter with an intelligent debate.
I hunt therefore I am.

I'm still considering whether or not this opportunity is worth the hassle. The landowner is fine and would love to lower the deer population.
If I go, I would most certainly be as discreet as possible and use all necessary caution and courtesy. As for people who don't like hunters, they would have to trespass on my friends land in order to voice their opinion.
Interesting thoughts that you all have shared and I am grateful.

i'd worry more about pissing the land owner off than anyone else.  :twocents: I think its funny to be nice and polite (overly so) to ignorat people.... It seems to get them piss of more than talking to them.... Most of the time they are just mad and itching for a fight so when you don't react as expected it throws them off gaurd.... That said i wouldn't take any grief from some  :tree1: that gave me grief about what i do on my own or public property....
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Yeah you're probably right...better just PM me with the landowners info and I'll post the pics of the buck that could have been yours  :chuckle:

Get out there and hunt that $hit! Sounds like you have a good enough head on your shoulders, do yourself and the landowner a favor and help get the deer population in check!  :IBCOOL:
