I like the Kikendall melted wheel weights witha bit of alloy the best.

Hey Bone, I'm curious what mold you are using.  I just ordered a Lee .50 REAL mold, & I'm hoping they will shoot o.k. in my 1:28.  Sure will be a lot cheaper if they do.

I really like a few all lead bullets. All my rifles and calibers are White Rifles open sites most with peep.

 In my Wilson Barreled .504's I like a 510gr my brother casts shoots well 3 shot groups at 100 yards 1 1/4, I also like No Excuse bullets in the 495gr for the .504 shoots very simular to the 510gr, another great shooter is the White Super Slug 600gr bullet 2" groups at 100 yards.

In my Clerke Barreled .504's I like the 460gr Bullshop bullet shoots 1 1/2 in groups at 100 yards.
My .504 Pistol I like the 440 grain White Super Slug.

My .451 cal Whites I like the 460gr White bullet and a 460gr copper gas checked bullet my brother casts. Both bullets will shoot 1" easy at 100 yards.
My .451 pistol I like a 400-423gr bullet

My .410 cal's like 423 grain and 440 grain bullets cast by Moose, will shoot one hole forever.

My .540's like the Noecuse 540gr and the White 750gr super slug. That one hurts though.

I have shot powerbelts with good results.  348gr and 405gr.  I am always amazed at the accuracy.  Although I have never scoped my muzzleloader I believe it would shoot groups inside 2" @100yards with a scope.  My bull this year diddnt make it 40 yards after the shot!

A lot of people do use Powerbelts with good results on elk. But I just can't trust them after I've seen how they "pancake" just on a small blacktail deer, when hitting nothing but a rib and lungs.

Are you now using the jacketed Powerbelts, or still the all-lead? It seems that the jacketed Powerbelts might stay together a little better than the non-jacketed bullets. I have always thought about trying the 444 grain flat point but haven't yet.

I absolutely LOVE the 400 grain hard cast Harvester bullet.    I've probably taken 13-15 elk with them, including 2 big bulls.  The put the hurt on them, with an amazing wound channel and they do not pancake.   

I'm comfy as can be shooting them at anything I hunt with my muzzleloader.

I use Hornady Great Plains 385gr. Perfect for deer, maybe a little too soft for elk.
