If the dept of wildlife chooses not to manage game, hunters must step up. Game management seems like it would be best achieved by those who know the area, can personally observe variations in carrying capacity, threats to local herds, etc...and then simply deal with the issues as they are faced. Maybe 39 different game management groups, one for each county, folks from the county, for the county... Please don't tell me that a group of non-hunters, directed by the legislature, HQ'd in Olympia can and do the job well. We have 39 sheriffs in this state.

Sounds like a good plan Iceman, but we will need a crew of wolf shooters if there are any plans to manage the game herds.
