Oak Creek
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:23:51 AM »
It was reported that Oak Creek would open on April 1, instead of the normal May 1. Anyone with knowledge of this conflict of dates ??

What time does the gun go off for the mad dash into the hills for horns the rangers didn't pick up?

Are they looking to do a horn auction again this year? I understand last years was successful.
God Bless,
Scott

May 1st, unless you are one of the dozens of poachers who go in weeks ahead of time and make little stashes in convenient to get to spots.   :bash:

Yeah I would love to find one of those stashes before the stasher did and sit on it until they got there. Could you imagine the look on there face when you told them look at all these sheds on top of one another.   :chuckle:     Then to walk out with all the sheds that they poached. I bet there would be a pretty heated argument over that.   I think thats why they moved the time back to 6 am last year was so the rangers could keep an eye out for guys going in and getting there stashes.

No auction this year I was told.  When I was there last they said that it took them 5 years to colect all those antlers for the auction.
